inspirations from around the corner of my hotel....the windows are incredible in Paris....

evening walk at the Louvre....Paris is so mysterious and magical....

raising the tent - what a job.....my sister in law constructed the most beautiful canopy tent - truly breathtaking + a huge task to hoist + install....

Paris day 4 +5 (sorry about not posting yesterday- the day was a huge catastrophe).... and yes that is me wearing 3 coats + my team wearing the Yoruba
hats! Crates arrived yesterday (late) and we worked through the night.....a 3 day install turned into a 1 1/2 day install - thanks to my team (amazing) we finally finished.....the show opens in the morning..off to get much needed rest....

Paris Day 3... today was the first day of installation at Maison - very interesting + extremely challenging. The electrical + slings were not installed and 14 crates (from of our US shipment) have still not arrived....on a positive note the set up team is amazing, the space + location are perfection + the show itself......I am in awe + words escape! We have nothing like it in the US to compare- the beauty of the products, the professionalism are beyond words - for a designer like myself - it is simply trade show nirvana - I am hooked + have found my new design home (away from home).....so 24 hours into set up...team of 8, 3 shipments (from 2 countries) are received + awaiting the 4th shipment (delivery in the morning) I am feeling overwhelmed but hopeful - nothing that a hot bath, room service + a good movie can't cure.....here is a picture of the raw space + my wonderful team...more tomorrow!

now on to color....through the gray skies I managed to find amazing blues + turquoises....the air was crisp + the light spectacular....

this was an incredible relic from St. Louis...a small fragment sewn on his clothes with delicate writing...not sure about the translation - it looked like a fragile butterfly....

Day 2 - Paris....today was a much needed day off + full of incredible sites...we started the day off walking through the Tuileries Gardens....it was beautiful + cold!

we took a boat tonight down the Seine River....amazing views of Paris...the Eiffel Tower at night is truly spectacular....the white seagulls flying over head against the dark night sky was magical......now off to bed...I have 1 day before I install + must see Notre Dame once again (my favorite) good night!

I am seeing stripes everywhere- these black and awnings by the hotel were beautiful....I am suspending a striped tent over my space at Maison....love it!

hello all...my adventure in Paris has officially begun! This is the view off my balcony....
